In Loving Memory of Austin Teagarden

Austin Teagarden was born in February 1997, the second-born of a set of triplets. His older brother Micah arrived just one minute before him and his sister McKenzie followed one minute later. Together, they formed a unique and unbreakable bond.

Austin was deeply curious and imaginative. He loved to read, especially stories about post-apocalyptic worlds and zombie survival. His shelves were full of novels that explored those themes and he extended that passion into film and television as well.

In university, Austin joined the e-sports team and competed in tournaments. His gamertag, "Zombie Scholar", was a reflection of both his love of learning and his fascination with zombie culture. He was smart, strategic and kind-hearted.

Austin also cherished the outdoors. Alongside his father, Micah and McKenzie, he visited 49 out of 50 U.S. states, geocaching in every one of the lower 48. Their shared road trips created memories full of laughter, adventure and discovery.

In March 2024, just weeks before his passing, Austin and his siblings reunited for a special outing. They revisited a childhood memory from 2007, dinner at Medieval Times. This time, they went as adults, reliving the fun and joy of their earlier years, laughing and cheering through the night.

After Austin’s death, his siblings and father honored his memory by traveling together to Alaska on the first anniversary of his passing. There, they released some of his ashes in the one state they had not yet explored together.
